BIO:  Brandi was given up to the shelter as her owners home was being foreclosed and they couldn’t take her with them. So she came into rescue.  Brandi went to the vet got a clean bill of health and was all set and ready to be adopted and SURPRISE!!!  We found out she was pregnant!   On October 19^th, Brandi gave birth to 5, yes little tiny 10 pound Brandi gave birth to 5 beautiful baby girls. When we found out she was pregnant we called the shelter Officer to see if we could get any information on who possibly could be the Daddy.  As luck or?  Would have it -  the shelter Officer knew of the owners and found out that the Daddy was a purebred short hair black and tan dachshund and that his Daddy- “grandpa”  was a purebred  short hair chocolate colored dachshund.  What a treat to know their lineage!  One Puppy  Roxie2 is available for adoption.

Brandi loves everyone and is an absolute joy to be around. Brandi loves people, women especially.  She will accompany you around the house and yard waiting patiently to be pet.  She knows a couple of commands (sit, squat) and is an eager learner.  Brandi has finished nursing and has recently been spayed and has her girlish figure back. If you are looking for a tiny little long haired sweetheart, then Brandi is the girl for you!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
