BIO:  Lilbit is a sweet, lovable puppy!   His family had to surrender him when they changed military housing and could only keep two of their pets.   Within 10 minutes of meeting his foster mom, he was curled up in her lap, and snoring!  The only thing he truly wants is to sit in your lap, regardless of what you are doing.  He likes to sleep in the big bed, preferably right by your face, or curled up under your arm.  He follows his foster mom wherever she goes, including multiple laps around the yard while doing yardwork.  He doesn’t seem to bark at anything, but gets so excited when you come home, that he sometimes has an accident.  He plays with his foster sister, and does best in a crate when his foster mom is away.  The house is too big for his little self to be left out (will find something to chew on!).  If you are looking for a loyal, loving lap dog, Lilbit is it.  He will sit and lick your face for hours if you would let him!   How could you possibly resist a face like his?

out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about LITTLE BIT

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
