ROSIE came from northern central TN. She was pregnant but lost her baby. The big concern with ROSIE was that she had a bladder full of stones and a kidney stone. To make a long story short, ROSE has been with us since the middle of July getting herself all fixed up and healthy so she could find herself a forever home. She's finally THERE.  She got rid of those nasty stones first, then came the dental!! Unfortunately ROSIE lost ALL of her teeth. She will need to stay on Hill's C/D dry that has been softened with water so she can eat it but PLEASE do not let that stop you from adopting the sweetest friendliest dachshund I've ever met. She doesn't know a stranger and loves everyone. She would make a great pet for children or adults. She's just a happy happy girl and she's housebroken too.
Please HELP ROSIE find that forever home that she so much deserves.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about ROSIE....NH

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
