BIO:  Remy was in multiple homes before rescue was asked to take him. We don't know why the first home gave him up other than they had four dogs but the second home had a three year old child that he did not like (for that reason, no small children under the age of 10 years in his new home).

Our must haves for handsome Remy include:

• No apartments or high-rises
• A fenced yard
• Someone who is home a lot as he does like his people
• A never-ending supply of toys since he likes to destroy them

If you are interested in this sweet boy you won't be disappointed... he's almost perfect!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
