Sheyanna Faye came to us from a family in AL when they lost their jobs and could no longer care for their two dachshunds. The other dachshund has found a forever home and Sheyanna Faye did too but then she has an incident with her back and they didn't want to keep her and see if she would be ok. They then gave her back to us and we had her flown back down to TN to see our vet She has been at the vet office on crate rest and meds and is now good as new BUT with the incident she had with her back we need to be careful where she goes. No STEPS, no KIDS and no JUMPING on and off furniture. Sheyanna Faye is a very sweet sweet girl and is happy laying in a doggie bed or cuddled up next to you. She is housebroken and can even hand a step or two but no more than that. She gets alon with other dogs but we aren't sure about cats. Please if you are looking for a sweet girl to add to your family please consider this pretty girl. She walks very well on a leash. She loves stuffed toys too. Please give her a forever home.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
