BIO:  Findley is from Georgia where she was surrendered due to not being compatible with a larger dog in the household. She is a delightful young lady! She listens well, is great-natured, and loves to curl up with her humans sitting on a lap or in a sunny spot on the floor

• She is on easily available commercial food that is good for her kidneys, which she will need for the rest of her life

Findley is a super sweet lady that has bonded very quickly with our family. She loves people and wants to be with them, preferably in a lap. She is, in typical dachshund fashion, indifferent to other dogs in the home.

Our must haves for little Miss Findley include:

• A fenced yard
• No big or female dogs
• No children under the age of 12 years

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
