BIO UPDATE (1/25/2021): If you are home a lot and looking for a companion, Frieda would love to have a home to call her own again! Once she trusts you, it may take a few days or even a few weeks, she will be your forever companion. She does very well with other dogs, but prefers the life of a quiet home. She loves her doggy beds and will sleep there next to your bed all night. During the day, she will mosey around, take naps, and join you on the couch to lounge some more. Frieda is not a very active dog, but she does love her meal time! She is currently on a diet and on a mission to lose another 6 pounds or so. This girl is so sweet and we are waiting for the perfect home to apply to adopt! Her wish list includes:
- A fenced yard
- Someone home most of the time
- Someone who has patience because she is terrified
- Another small dog if you have to be gone for any length of time
- No apartment or high rises
BIO: Frieda came from middle Tennessee when her owner went into assisted living and had to give her up.
Frieda was purchased from a breeder at 4 years old and was never socialized before or after purchase. For that reason, she is very timid around new people and has taken sometime to warm up to us. We see small baby steps each day but whomever adopters her MUST be patient and not push her, we can tell she wants to but is just too scared right now. She is doing well on a doggie door but expect accidents until she trusts you enough to have you let her outside. The previous owner said she was not puppy pad trained.
If you are looking to rescue, then here you go... she needs lots of love and patience for her to know she’s safe and that she is with her family for the rest of her life.
