EVA was surrendered along with Buddy10, Binkie, and Daisy when the family lost their home and had to move in with relatives that wouldn't allow the dogs in the house. Broken hearted they felt it was best to surrender them to rescue and for us to find them a lasting forever home. EVA is very very friendly, loves everyone! She does not like to be crated and will cry to be out of the crate but we think she would be fine just in the house and not in a crate. We think that she would also do best with another dachshund for company especially since she has been with two others all her life. She apprears to be housebroken and also likes to sleep in the big bed. She loves to be with her foster home where ever she goes in the house or yard. She gets along fine with the other male and females in the foster home but we don't know about cats. Children over 10 we think would be fine. If you are interest in a dark chocolate smooth coat female this may be the girl for you. Please apply online.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about EVA...MA

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
