BIO: Razzy was surrendered to a shelter in East Tennessee because he would not get along with the cat. If not for the gray hairs on his chin, it would be easy to think that Razzy is younger than 10. He enjoys long walks and playing with other small dogs.
Our must-haves for Razzy include:
- A fenced yard
- An experienced dachshund owner
- No apartments or high rises
Dachshund through and through, Razzy has a stubborn streak and will need an experienced owner who will not allow him to be the boss. He is very smart and learns quickly. Razzy gets along well with the 2 senior dachshunds in his foster home. He would be okay as an only dog or with other small dogs. He is pretty laid-back in the house, but does bark at strange noises. He would not be a good apartment dog. Razzy is very interested in cats and other small animals, so he would not do well with them in his home.
Razzy is a friendly dog. He is okay meeting young children, but is nervous around them, so he would do best in a home with older children or just adults. He likes to be where you are, especially in the kitchen. He is a great lap dog!
Razzy is doing well with his house-training. He will use a pee pad if left for extended periods. A dog door and a fenced yard will help him get outside when he needs to go and give him space to play and explore. He has been sleeping in a crate, but would be much happier in a dog bed or with his people.
Razzy is a fun little fellow and a great walking companion. If you are looking to add some razzle-dazzle to your life, Razzy is the guy for you!
