BIO:  Hi I’m Wrangler and they say I am a puppy.  I am learning new things everyday. I know I lived somewhere else and then I got lost. Someone picked me up and brought me to a place they call a “shelter”.  I was vey scared I am so little and there were so many other dogs- I tried to bite everyone because I was afraid. The shelter said I was unadoptable because I was so mean and would try to bit everyone.   So they called rescue as they said I was vicious and couldn’t stay.  So off I went in a crate in a big machine that took me far away – I was till very afraid and barked and growled the whole way.  Finally we stopped someone picked up the crate I was in and I could smell flowers and grass. I ran out of the crate as soon as the door opened and barreled over to the lady as fast as I could and started smothering her with kisses and I haven’t stopped yet.

He does get nervous around new people and you need to let him meet them on his terms so he know he doesn’t have to be afraid of them. He was found as a stray and nobody came to claim him so he needs to get to trust people again.  He is the most fabulous puppy after you get over that hurdle and gain his trust.

Wrangler is a typical puppy, loads of energy to run around and then he just stops and falls asleep. He sleeps through the night and if he does get up he knows how to use the potty pad.  He gets along with all cats and dogs. He was named Wrangler because if his oh so bowed legs. He is the cutest when he walks as he swings his back legs out back and forth.  Just like a Cowboy/Horse Wrangler. He likes to chase a ball but doesn’t know to bring it back yet. He looks to chew on those puppy braided rope chews and lay on your lap/chest when you are using a laptop.  Wrangler will need more training to become the great dog he can be after being a puppy.  He loves to give kisses and wants to go home with you furever!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about Wrangler..AZ

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
