BIO: Karma came from southeastern Tennessee when her family could no longer care for her. Our wish-list for Karma includes:
- Another young dog for her to play with, big or small is fine as long as the big dog is not too big
- A fenced yard
- No apartments or high-rises
- Someone home a lot (and not just during this pandemic) as she loves her people
From her Foster Mom: Karma is a great, great dog!! She was a bit shy when she first came into rescue but after a short period of time, she has really opened up. She is just a happy girl that loves to play with the other dogs in the home. Being a young dog, she is full of energy so if you are looking for a lap dog Karma is NOT it. She wants to run, play, nap a little and play some more. That’s why we are looking for that home that has another playful dog.
She has had only one accident in the house but that’s to be expected being in a strange place, so you should expect the same.
She is great with kids but because she is so small, your kids or grandkids must be at least 8 years old. We don’t want toddlers falling on her and hurting her back. She does have the long Dachshund back.
So, if you are looking for a companion for you and your current dog, look no further, here she is!
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
