PICTURES COMING SOON!!

TUCKER came from a puppymill bust in Paris, TN where he was kept in a house with about 24 other dachshund and allowed to breed. This is not the worse case we have seen but he is still a puppymill dog. When you adopt him we will give you good information on how puppymill dogs are different than shelter dogs or owner surrenders. TUCKER is very friendly to humans both male and female and so far with a doggie door he's been fine. He is doing very well with the other male and female dogs here and just seems to go with the flow. He's not used to being on any furniture and jumps off right away when you put him on it. We just don't know what his life was like before coming into rescue. He does not appear to have been abused as some puppymill dogs are and he seems well socialized. If you are interested in a wire please fill out an online app today.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about TUCKER...GA

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
