Hello, I am Cookie!  I love to chase my brothers around and bite their tails… they actually like it but pretend they don’t.  Actually I am pretty laid back and hang out in my bed when not playing with the toys and brothers.  When mom isn’t trying to keep me from nursing, I even try to climb on her back and play with her!  Shh!  Let me tell you what I really, really want… a home of my own.  You see, my foster mom is great and all, but I know there is someone out there that is just for me… Are you the one?

Cookie is a great pup.  He loves to wrestle with the other pups, not afraid of much of anything, we have gone for car rides and that doesn’t seem to bother him.  He is a “tough cookie” when it comes to shots even, not even a whimper!  He is such a good boy and smart.  Please think about Cookie when you are looking to adopt.  He is having his neuter surgery in July and will be ready after that.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
