These two can be separated but would need to go to a home with other dogs as they are used to be with other dogs.
You just thought that Batman and Robin were the Dynamic Duo.  Pace and Zoe are the real Dynamic Duo.  Pace is absolutely drop dead gorgeous.  He is as handsome as any dog show competitor with a perfectly shaped dachshund head.  Zoe is also a beautiful dachshund with very striking markings and expressive eyes,  Their coats are so soft it is like rubbing silk or soft velvet.  If you imagine the softest thing you have ever buried your face into, their coats are just that soft.  They are a very active brother and sister pair.  They love to play chase and tag.  They will run and play until they wear each other out and then they find a quiet place to cuddle up together for a nap.  They are very loving.  Their previous owners loved them very much but had to surrender them to rescue because of economic conditions.  They will cuddle with you while you watch television.  They are very happy and easy going.  The foster home does not have small children so it is unknown how they would be around small children but because they are so active it would be better if the children were over 10.  Pace is very interested in his foster mom's cat.  He thinks she would make a great snack so a family without cats would be best.  They will need continued work on their housebreaking skills.  Like any young dog, they will chew.  They are wonderful dogs but their new family will need to teach them what is acceptable behavior.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
