KRUZIER was turned in by his owners because they lost their job and could no longer care for him.  Kruzier is a very sweet boy, little shy at first but warms up pretty quick. He is a real couch potato but does like to get out in the yard and just wander so we think a home with a fenced yard is best. He also has seizures so will need the inexpensive Phenobarbtol for life. If given twice a day as instucted he has not seizures. He has no issues with men or women, gets along with all he fosters here and all in all seems like the perfect well adjusted dachshund. He apprears to be housebroken and uses the doggie door. We'll be getting his pictures shortly. He is UTD on shots on Interceptor and Frontline and just had a fresh dental he's ready to go to his new home are you that person?? Fill out that app and find out if he picked YOU!!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
