NAME..............DANNY being fostered in Melbourne, FL DACHSHUND....MINI COLOR...........RED COAT.............SMOOTH WEIGHT......... 8.2LBS ADOPTION FEE 275.00+10.00 Joanne littlebit129@yahoo.com Danny came from a home in KY when the older couple became too ill to care for him. He was clearly the lady's dog and does prefer women over men but he's fine with men too. He is very sweet but does not get along with all males so we are saying he has to go to a home with a female. Probably not children younger than 10 yrs and we don't know about cats. Danny is very sweet loves to sleep in the big bed with you and will follow you all over. He doesn't really like to be crated but will settle down after while. We think because he was never left by himself much that he needs someone that's home a lot or a retired person that could take him every where. We do leave him and when we leave we crate him along with the other fosters. We give him a rawhide and he's fine. We also have left him out and he does fine with that too. Danny is a little shy at first but warms up quickly and then he's your bud for life. Please find it in your heart to give him his forever home, he will repay you with years of undying love. He is UTD and on heartworm prevention and Frontline has been nuetuered and chipped.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about DANNY...NY
Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
