BIO:  Pearl came into rescue with four other dogs that were all dumped in different places all over Williamson County Tennessee.  Who would do that?  Left to fend for themselves, they were lucky to survive until a Good Samaritan found them and took them to animal control.  Little Pearl:

  • Must go to a home with another dachshund
  • Must have a fenced yard
  • Must have more of a quiet home rather than a busy one
  • Must not live in an apartment
  • Only has two teeth left - her top canines.  So, you will save on dentals!

This pretty girl is a little shy and a lot sweet.  She loves her people and will follow you everywhere just to hang out with you.  No small children... only children over the age of 12 years who respect her space.  Small children running and screaming would scare her too much.  Pearl is pretty laid back and might be okay with a cat but we would need to “cat test” her with one prior to adoption.

Pearl had to have her locks trimmed because she was matted but her fur should grow out and be beautiful once again.  We did take a couple pictures before her grooming to let you see how she’ll look with her long fur…only it will look much better.

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Requires a yard, Cratetrained

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
