BIO: Lady came from a family in Alabama when the owner could no longer care for her. Here is what we know about this precious girl:
Lap dog
Sweet and friendly
Gets along with all
Needs fenced yard
Someone that will love her for the rest of her life
Lady was leery of other dogs when she first came into rescue since she was an only dog but after being exposed to other dogs, she’s just fine but doesn’t care for younger dogs to be in her face. Lady is truly a lady, sweet, gentle and just wants a kind word and a soft bed to lay her head down on. But with that being said, it doesn’t mean she’s a slug... she has spurts of energy and likes to play with a toy, so don’t count her out.
Please give Lady her last forever home, you’ll be rewarded with undying devotion and she’ll follow you everywhere!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
