Butterbean came to us as a retired breeder dog from AL. She was well cared for by her breeder and she hated to let her go but decided it was best to retire her and let her find a wonderful forever home. Butterbean loves for you to call her name really fast! She will just start wiggling all over when you call her butterbean several times. She is a little shy at first but warms up very quickly and is happy to see you. She is housetrained to a doggie door and loves to go outside in the fenced in yard and run with the other fosters. She gets along with all the other fosters male and female in the household but not cats and we think she'd be ok with kids 10 and up but no small children under 5 yrs. Butterbean is not leash-trained so would do best in a fenced in yard and with another dog to keep her company. Are you going to be her lucky family to adopt her??

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about BUTTERBEAN...SC

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
