WINNIE was surrendered by her owner because they were having to work long hours and she was alone for many hours in an apt and they didn't feel it was fair to WINNIE so broken-hearted they turned her over to rescue so we could find her a wonderful home with another dog to play with. She loves to play with cats and dogs and would be fine with little children. She is house broken and will talk to you if you talk back to her. She loves all people and loves to get up in the big bed and burrow under the covers. She loves to go for car rides and walks on a leash. We feel that WINNIE would do best with a fenced in yard and hopefully a doggie dog so she can go in and out to play. If you are interested in WINNIE POOH please go to our website www.ssdr.org and fill out an online app. We will be in touch shortly after you turn it and and begin working it right away. If you have any questions about WINNIE POOH please e mail the foster mom above and she'll be happy to answer all your questions.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
