AND HERE IS WEBSTER'S STORY: "My name is Webster an I was taken to a shelter cause my mom had to move, but my foster mom walked in ten minutes later and took me out of there. I was not there but one night an then I went to the vets an she came an got me I am only four months old an I am learning going outside to potty and using puddle pads very fast an the older guys around here think I am great if you go look at Ms Charlotte picture she use to be a mama dog an she plays until she has to nap with me. I have had all my shots an they did a little surgery on my back end not sure why but moms says I am good to go,but it has to be a home that will play with me an love me forever thanks." Webster
This little boy will make a great watch dog as he is already attached to his foster daddy and will bark and growl at me when i come down the hall way or near his foster daddy. He loves to play and is very sweet..foster mom, Sherry.
If you are interested in this sweet little boy please go online to our website and fill out an online app at www.ssdr.org. Please be sure to put his name on the app. WE will be in touch right away as we don't like our adopters to wait too long before getting their precious new babies.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
