TIGER loves kids and is a real sweetheart of a dog. He is housebroken to a doggie door but does like to mark but we are hoping that being neutered he will stop that if not a bellyband is advised until he gets the idea he can't mark in the house. He gets along with other dogs and like to play. He is UTD on all shots and on Frontline and Interceptor(heartworm preventive). This boy is gorgeous and very sweet to boot. Likes car rides and walks well on a leash. If you are interested in giving TIGER a new home please go online and fill out an online app and be sure to put his name on the app. Please keep in mind that we can not adopt to people that have unaltered dogs that is our strict policy. We also prefer our dogs to have a fenced in yard to play in as they do need to get regular exericise for their backs to stay healthy and at an ideal weight. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

Not Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
