BEING FOSTER IN MEMPHIS, TN


This precious girl was abandoned and left to find a suitable place to have her puppies in the middle of winter. Well lucky for her she picked a yard with good people. The family took her in and gave Sassy and her puppies a warm place to stay. They were able to find wonderful homes for all of the puppies but no one was willing to give this mom a second chance. This girl is sweet sweet sweet!! All that she wants is to be with her family. She loves to snuggle on the couch and sleep in the big bed with her foster mommy and daddy. She gets along great with kids and will even jump up to give them kisses. She loves to play with the other dogs and enjoys being in the outside sun. She is housebroken but may have accidents in her new home until she gets used to her routine. Sassy suffers from separation anxiety which we are working on. She just loves being with the family so much that she hates to be left out. This is a minor problem which can be worked out with time and patience. This girl is too sweet to be left without a home. She needs a family to love and one who will love her back in return.
WE WILL NOT SHIP OUR DOGS CARGO, TOO MANY HORROR TALES HAVE HAPPENED FOR US TO FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS. IF WE CAN'T TRANSPORT BY LAND THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO FLY TO THE CITY THAT THE DOG IS BEING FOSTERED IN TO GET HIM/HER. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard or down to FLORDIA. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
