  • Species: Dog
Dachshund .......... Mini/Pure Coat .................. Smooth Color ................. Tan & Black Age ................... 5 weeks Gender ............... Male Weight ................ 1.5 lbs adoption fee.........150.00 + 50.00 This is Sam. He is one of Cherry's puppies. When he got here is was full of parasites & covered in fleas. Now he is parasite & flea free. Sam likes to rough house with his siblings and play with his toys. He also likes to play "tackle" with his foster moms kitten. We are working on potty training to a puppy pad & it is going well! Before he can go to his new home he will have all of his shots that he can have a 6 weeks old & it will be the responsibility of the new owner to have him neutered at 6 months of age and finish the rest of the series of shot they need and give them their rabies. If you are interested in her please fill out an application & put his name on it. Or if you have any questions contact us. Out of state adoptions welcome & a home visit is required. A 50.00 neuter deposit will also need to be paid along with the adoption fee but this will be refunded once you have him neutered at 6 months if you do not have him neutered before he is 7 mos your neuter deposit WILL NOT be refunded. We will need to see proof of neutering from your vet. Thank you for your interest in a rescue.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
