BEING FOSTERED IN AL
ROBBIE was a good breeder surrender just wanting to downside a little. ROBBIE is very sweet and gets along with all the dogs in the foster home male and female. Don't know about cats, kids would be fine as long as they were older and treated pets kindly. He is UTD on all shots, neutered and on frontline and interceptor. ROBBIE said he's looking for a home with a fenced in yard and hopefully a doggie door cause this housetraining stuff is new to him but he does very well if he can go in and out by himself. He does ok on a leash but needs more work. Likes to ride in a car and loves to sleep in the big bed with his foster family. He is also crate trained. If you are interested in adding ROBBIE to your family please go online to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online app. We will begin working on it right away. ROBBIE siad hurry cause he's too handsome to stay homeless for long.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
