MUST HAVE A FENCED IN YARD!!!!!
BEING FOSTERED IN KY
"Peanut is a darling little cream, smooth hair dachshund who came to us from a breeder in LA. Because of her overbite, she did not want to breed her. Her foster mom thinks that her overbite makes her all the more cute! She is shy at first and will take some time to warm up to her new owner. But the reward will be a loyal, friendly companion who wants nothing more than to sit on your lap and keep you company. She gets along fine with other dogs and cats but will not be able to go to a home with young children. She would be perfect for an older adult or couple. Loud noises make her nervous and she will sometimes look for a place to hide when she hears them. She is housetrained and will sleep with you in your bed if you let her. Otherwise, a nice, soft blanket or dog bed will be fine. Peanut has the typical doxie trait of loving food, so she is a bit overweight right now but we are working on that in her foster home. She is a quiet girl and only seems to bark when one of her foster doxie siblings start barking first. Peanut has had all her vaccinations, is spayed and ready to become a part of your family. Please contact her foster mom at prayzpaws@yahoo.com to inquire about this loveable little girl."
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. A homevisit is required. We also chip all of our dogs and must pass the fee onto the adopter but it is only 10.00.
Thank you for your interest in a rescue.
More about PEANUT.....AL
Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
