Are you lonely?  Need a best friend that will never let you down?  Never leave you? Always love you no matter what?  Then you need Oliver.

Oliver's start in life was very shaky - we don't know all the details - but we do know he has come along way!  Once a sad, depressed little guy, he now runs and plays with his foster brothers and sisters.  He now has a bounce in his step, and his tail wags most of the time-he's truly becoming a happy dog.  He's even learning to give kisses.

I would best describe Oliver as gentle.  He's not aggressive, pushy, or assuming.  Just very loving.  He needs a single owner who will love him and care for him, and he'll return your care with years of love and devotion.  Are you the special person who will open your heart and your home to this very special little guy?  If so, please fill out an adoption application today and bring him home as soon as possible.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
