MACK SAYS.....LET'S PLAY BALL!! He loves to play ball and you will wear out before he does....he'll bring it back to you and even put it in your lap for you to throw it again and again!!! NEED A BALLPLAYER....WELL HERE IS YOUR CHANCE....
MACK came to us from Nashville, TN were he was surrendered by the owner because he has separation anxiety. He is fine here because we have other dogs to keep him company when we leave. So he would need to be in a home with other dogs or cats(he likes cats) and children are fine. MACK is a sweet sweet boy and would be great in any home as long as he as someone with him. He will even sleep in his crate at night if you leave the door open and in the bedroom where he can see and hear you. He's not a jumper on furniture but does like to sleep on your lap or in a doggie bed. MACK is housebroken to a door and doggie door. He is UTD on all shots, neutered and on heartworm prevention. If you'd like this sweet boy for your own and are a stay at home mom, retired or have other animals to keep him company please consider adopting this boy. He is too sweet to stay in foster too long.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
