BEING FOSTERED NEAR JACKSON, TN
LONNIE came in with Donnie and Price, we do not know if they are from the same litter or just dog that this lady had and decided she didn't want them anymore. She said they were strays that came to her house, somehow we think this was not true. They were not healthy when she brought them in and when they were picked up by SSDR they went straight to the vet and stayed there until the Sarcoptic Mange was no longer contagious. They are now healthy and ready to go to there new homes. LONNIE is the more aggressive of the other two. He will guard the food dish and growl when they are all eating. He also wants the toys and will argue with them over the toys so it does appear that he will be the ALPHA male. Other than that he is very sweet loves to play and get kisses and be cuddle. Very very friendly and sweet. If you are interested in adopting LONNIE please go online to www.ssdr.org and fill out the online app and be sure to put his name on the app. If you'd like more info on LONNIE please contact his foster mom at given e mail. LONNIE is also paper trained so will need more work in the housetraining area but all are very eager to please.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
