These puppies came in with their momma from a very bad situation. We think that if they would have been left there they woul have all died but as you can see they are all healthy and happy.
We just took them off Momma and they will be able to go to their new approved forever homes in 2-3 weeks
LOLA will be tall like a Boston Terrier. She has long legs but not the eyes of the Boston Terrier. Very cute with her curly tail. She tries to be the boss of everyone. She is very curious. She loves to sit on your lap so she feels like a big girl.
If you are interested in any of these babies don't wait to put your app in as they are too too cute and will go FAST.
They will be given either one or two set of shots and will have to be given the rest by the adopter and spayed or neutered and you will have to sign a spay/neuter contract that says you will have them spayed or neutered before they are no more than 7 mos and if you don't you will have to give the dog back plus lose your spay/neuter deposit.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
