Little Bit was an owner surrender to a shelter cause they said they could not potty train her. She has been here for three days now and has nothing in my house but I do have a doggie door. She is very very sweet gets along with kids, dogs but doesn't like cats. She would be fine with smaller children as she is very laid back. She likes to watch TV with my husband and will sleep in his lap as long as he stays put. She is UTD on all shots, spayed, heartworm neg. on Interceptor and frontline. She is ready to go to her new home and if no doggie door may have to work with her on house training but the key to success is treats and praise. If you are interested in Little Bit please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online adoption application and put her name on it as the one you are interested in. Home visit is required and out of state and country adoptions are welcome.
Thank you for your interest in a rescue...........

Not Good with Cats
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
