THIS BOY IS GORGEOUS AND IS A STANDARD. KIPPER was surrender by his owners cause he bit the owner AGAIN IF YOU'RE GOING TO HIT THE DOG HE/SHE WILL BITE. We've had no problem out of Kipper since he's been here. He's been fine with us and all the fosters causing no trouble. He will be going this coming week to be neutered and UTD on all shots and heartworm checked when that is done I will update the site with this info. He does appear to be housebroken and loves the doggie door so he can go out at will and loves to go out into the fenced in yard for that reason we feel he'd do best in a fenced in yard with another dog or two. He's a very sweet boy and is happy either in your lap or on the couch with the other fosters. He's not demanding about attention but will take it when you give it. Please give KIPPER a LASTING LOVING FOREVER HOME, where he won't have to worry about biting someone to defend himself. If you are interested in the gorgeous boy please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online app and be sure to put his name on the app.
Out of state and Canidian adoptions are welcome, we have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible. A home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
