Emma was dropped at the shelter 2 days before giving birth. We were able to get her 1 day before the pups came along. Now she has 6 bundles of joy. These pups will be ready to go to their forever home on Janurary 3. They will have their first set of shots and be wormed before going to their new home. We are requiring a $50 spay/neuter deposit on the puppies that will be refund to the adoptor once they have spayed/neutered their puppy once the puppy reaches 6 months of age. AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
