About JACK....TN

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
NAME............................JACK DACHSHUND.............PURE/STANDARD COAT............................SMOOTH COLOR........................RED AGE..............................1YR WEIGHT......................20 + LBS contact nashcat2@bellsouth.net ADOPTION FEE 50.00+10.00 to approved home contact nashcat2@bellsouth.net JACK MUST GO TO A LADIES ONLY HOME OR A HUSBAND AND WIFE WHERE THE HUSBAND IS PATIENT AND LET JACK COME TO HIM AND NOT PUSH JACK. HE IS FINE WITH FEMALE DOGS HIS SIZE OR LARGER NO MALES OR SMALL DOGS. Jack was turned into the shelter they said because they couldn't house break him. He doesn't have a problem here but then again I have a doggie door, if you do not have one I beleive he would be easy to housebreak with treats and positive reinforcement. Ok with that said he is just about he sweetest dog there is, he loves to be cuddled and loved on. He will give you kisses but not wash your face. He loves to play with the other dogs, both male and female. I don't know about cats. Kids would be fine. He loves to sleep in the big bed and cuddle next to you all night long or just be in any room you are in. He is UTD on all shots, on Interceptor and Frontline. If you are interested in adopting Jack please go online to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online adoption application and put his name on the application. We do require a home visit and out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. Thank you for your interest in a rescue.

More about JACK....TN

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
