Poor ILYSA(e-lisa) was taken to the shelter by her daddy after her mommy died and her care and her mates care became too much for him. Her daddy kept ILYSA'S mate but gave up ILYSA. She is a very very sweet girl and deserves a wonderful forever lasting home for the rest of her life. She does not act 10. Get's along with all the other fosters(male & female) here. She just likes a quite spot or quiet lap to lay in for naps. ILYSA would do wonderful for a retired couple or single person that is home most of the time. She has written to SANTA and on her CHRISTMAS list she put NEW HOME. Will you make her CHRISTMAS wish come true? She won't let you down and will give you many years of love and devotion. She is UTD on all shots and on heartworm prevention and Frontline and has had a dental. Please go online to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online app today to get her home to you for the holidays. ILYSA sends love and lots of kisses!!
Out of state and Canidian adoptions are welcome, we have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible. A home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.
More about ILYSA......AL
Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
