BEING FOSTERED IN Nashville, TN
DENTAL WAS DONE AND HE'S NOW READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME.
This boy was dumped at a shelter and hadn't been well cared for when he was dumped. He had a growth on his foot that we've had removed and he has been neutered and utd on all his shots he is heartworm negative but needs a dental and we will post his picture as soon as we have that done. He's a very sweet sweet boy that can't figure out what he did wrong to end up homeless. Why do people throw these babies away??? The seniors are the easiest to have they require nothing but love and food. Who couldn't supply that. He's really a sweet boy that will wag his tail when he sees you and he is 200% housebroken!! He will not go in the house at all but hold it for a whole day. That's almost unheard of in regards to a dachshund. If you are interested in this boy please contact his foster mommy or better yet fill out an app to take him home. You will not regret it, ever.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.
More about FENWAY......KY
Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
