EMMA was given up by the same breeder as ROBBIE.
EMMA is very shy and warms up slowly but she is oh so sweet. She wants to be every place you are and will follow you from room to room, this is after several days when she knows it's ok to let her guard down. She loves to sleep in the big bed with her foster family and likes to sleep curled in my arms and isn't happy until she is there, where she stays all night long. She now gives little butterfly kisses and is just round enough to be sweet to hold. EMMA also said she'd like to have a fenced in yard and hopefully a doggie door where she can come and go as she pleases when she has to potty but don't worry about her getting too far out of your sight, she won't. EMMA would be fine with cats we think but no small children, over 14yrs would be fine. EMMA is just too timid to be around loud or fast moving children, she would get too stressed. Understand that most of EMMA'S shyness is from not be socialized and around lots of people but in time she will come out of her shell and be just fine. EMMA would be fine with or without another dog to keep her company, she more interested in human company than doggie friends.
EMMA is UTD on all shots, spayed and on heartworm prevention and frontline. If you think you'd like to make this pretty little girl yours please go online to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app., we will be in touch shortly.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
