About EMILY...GA

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
Dachshund..........Pure/Mini Age................. 1 1/2 years Coat ................ Smooth Color................ black and tan Gender................ Female Weight ................ 9 lbs Adoption fee.................... $250.00 plus $10.00 chip fee Meet Emily. Emily was surrendered from a breeder to our rescue. When she arrived with us she was pregnant. She delivered 2 bouncing baby boys. At this time her babies are not ready for adoption and she will not be ready for another 3-4 weeks. We are going ahead and listing her in hopes to find her the perfect home once her babies are ready to go and she is spayed. Emily is such a happy little girl. Always running and playing and even smiling. She wants to be next to her human companion all the time. She is also what I would call the perfect lap dog. If you pick her up and put her in your lap she will just sit there as long as you let her. She is working on house training at this time and making great progress. She is puppy pad trained. She gets along with kids, cats, other dogs. She still has a lot of puppy in her so she does like to chew but with lots of toys and guidance she will chew on the proper things. IF you are interested please fill out an adoption application for her. She will be UTD on all her shots and spayed before going to a new home. Out of state adoptions welcome and a home visit is required.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
