The owner brokenhearted knew he had to give these two up in order for them to have a healthy life. It broke his heart but here they are and becuase they are together they are doing great. These two are housetrained get along with other dogs and will sleep together in the big bed which they love to do!! They are UTD on all shots and on heartworm prevention and Frontline. If you were thinking of adopting two dachshunds and want to help some Katrina victims here is your chance. These two will give you years and years of love and devotion. Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
