DELTA DAWN was surrender along with her brother SPIKE3 from a good breeder that has run into some health problem and has had to scale down. It would be nice if we could adopt these two together but not necessary. DELTA DAWN is more out going than Spike3 but they both love to be held and cuddled. They are housebroken to paper or puppy pads but do like to go outside and play on nice days. They will need further work to finish housetraining them. They are UTD on all shots and heartworm negative and on Interceptor and Frontline. They do fine in a crate but prefer not to be in one but ride well in a car but will need to be leash trained. They both need a fenced in yard, no kids under 10 and other dogs and cats would be fine.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
