Meet Cooper.
Cooper came to us from a not so good situation. He was in a home that did not provide him with the love and attention he deserved.Because of this Cooper was rescued. Cooper is nervous in new situations, but that is only because he did not have a good start in life. He has not been in many new environments so because of this his new family will have to be patient with him. He does not like big dogs at all, he will tolerate small dogs, he is great with kids as long as they are respectful to him, and he is fine with cats. He is working on house training and will need some more work in his new home. Cooper loves to be next to his foster mom or dad all the time. He LOVES to be loved on & talked to.
He is scheduled to be completely vetted on 10-21-04. After that he can go to his new home. If you feel you can give cooper the home he so dearly deserves please fill out an application online. Out of state adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
