This is CJ. He is one of Cherry's puppies. When he got here is was full of parasites & covered in fleas. Now he is parasite & flea free. CJ is as sweet as he can be. He loves to play with his foster mom's 10 week old kitten and rough house all the time (even at 5 weeks old).
Before he can go to his new home he will have all of his shots that he can have at 6 weeks old & it will be the responsibility of the new owner to have him neutered at 6 months of age.
If you are interested in him please fill out an application & put his name on it. Or if you have any questions contact us. Out of state adoptions welcome & a home visit is required. They all know how to use a puppy pad and use it consistantly. There will be a 50.00 neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee but the 50. will be returned once you show proof of neutering at 6 mos of age if you wait past 6 mos it will not be refunded. Thank you for your interest in a rescue.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
