BEING FOSTER IN TN
THIS DOG IS 150% HOUSEBROKEN TO THE RIGHT FAMILY!!
CEASAR is just the most wonderful dog but due to his owner moving he was surrendered. He is house broken and just idolizes his owner. He follows his foster mom all over and will cry when I am out of sight. For that reason Ceasar needs to go to someone that will be home all the time or can take Ceasar to work with them. He was kept in a crate for 15+ hours a day by his old owner and he only took him out three times a day. Ceasar does love his crate but her he has free reignj to go in and out of his crate and go in and out of doors and he LOVES it.
He loves to go for car rides and walks.....he's fine with cats and other dogs but does like to be the only member of the family so he can have all the attention. No small children but over 10 yrs would be fine. If you think you can give the kind of home that Ceasar needs please fill out an online application and be sure to put his name on the app. We don't want Ceasar to HAVE to go back into that crate again only if he wants to. If you do go away and leave him out he will be distructive but is fine in the crate but please only for no more than 4 hours a day. He needs to be free to roan the yard and enjoy the sunshine. If you have anymore question please fill free to contact his foster mom. Keep in mind these are indoor dogs, love to go out to potty and play but are not to be kept outside.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost off to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
