Casey is a very good dog and a home for him with middle-aged children that would wrestle with him the way he likes would be wonderful!!
Casey came to us also from an IN shelter. He loves to be cuddled on and he loves other dogs. He likes to play with them. Appears to be house trained to a doggie door. He does have a heart mummer that he'll have to take meds for the rest of his life but that doesn't slow him down. He is UTD on all shots on Interceptor and frontline and a dental. Please fill out an online app at www.ssdr.org and give this sweet boy a lasting forever home OUT OF STATE ADOPTION S ARE WELCOME. Home visit required.

More about CASEY...SC

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
