This is Bob. He came to us from Alabama Animal Control. Bob was found as a stray. Since he was found as a stray we do not know anything on his background. Bob is as sweet as he can be!!! He loves children and would make a family with kids the PERFECT pet. He is good with cats and other dogs as long as the other dog is not alpha. He will follow you wherever you go. He just wants to be beside you all the time. Bob also loves to sleep at the foot of you bed, just as long as he knows that you are near. Bob does have a little separation anxiety but we are working on that now. We have found that as long as he can see you pull out of your driveway when you leave that he is okay. Bob would love to have the forever home he dreams of, with children to play with and a warm bed at night. Bob is up to date on all shots, he is neutered, and on Frontline & Interceptor. If you feel you can give Bob the home he deserves then please fill out an application or contact us if you have any questions.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
