Lucky for BENNY his guardian angel was on the phone and heard the commotion and when she found out what happened she got the dog and then turned him over to rescue. We believe BENNY was abused by a man, he will bark at the foster dad and doesn't want anything to do with him. BENNY is also afraid of any loud noises or if you yell or make fast moves. We feel cause he is young that he will with time over come all this and become a very sweet sweet trusting boy. For now we are just taking it easy and letting him make the moves but he's not made any more to bite his foster mom. He loves his foster mom and follows her all over and wants to be right with her all the time. He does appear to have a bit of a marking problem that but should stop once he's neutered next week. He will also be updated on his shots and heartworm checked and get his rabies and Frontline. He will be fully vetted before he goes on to his new home. Becuase of his past abuse we think a fenced in yard would be best to help him adjust better and better yet a doggie dog. AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
