Beau2 came in with Annie2 from an owner surrender that had these babies before she got human babies and Beau and Annie were just not happy with sharing their mommy and daddy with human babies. Annie looks like she has found a home so now it's Beau's turn. He is very very sweet, outgoing and gets along with other dogs, 12+ kids but don't know about cats. He just wants a lap to lay in and a big human bed to sleep in and he's on top of the world. He doesn't even mind sharing those things with other dogs just not very young children. He is utd on all shots, neutered and had a dental, will be chipped before going to his forever home. Beau2 only has one problem and that is that he has dry eye that requires cream in his eyes twice a day but the previous owner sent along 3 tubes of the cream that will last a long long time. They also sent along a 6 mos supply of Interceptor and Frontline. If you would like to adopt Beau2 please put in an app and be sure you put his name on the app so we will know who you are interested in. This boy is well worth having in the family!!
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
