Dachshund .............. Pure/Standard Coat ....................... Smooth Color ...................... Black & Tan Age ....................... 9 months Weight ................... 15 lbs Adoption Fee .......... $275.00+ $10.00 chip fee Contact .................. tcwatkins@comcast.net Meet Beau. He came to us from a concerned family member. Apparently he had been tied outside on a chain since this person got him & a family member so bravely stepped forward and rescued him. She then called us & now here we are. Beau is FULL of energy. His favorite past time is rough housing with Spencer or playing chase with the cats in the house. He will not harm the cats, just likes to play a little game of chase with them. He LOVES everyone he meets, whether it be kids, cats, other dogs, or strangers. It does not matter to him at all. In Beau's eyes it is someone or something else to play with. He also likes his toys a lot. He has learned how to sit on command and is working on other commands. He is ready for his new family to adopt him!! Beau is UTD on all shots, neutered, and on Frontline & Interceptor. Beau is also house trained. If you feel you can give Beau the family he so dearly deserves please fill out an adoption application at www.ssdr.org with his name on it. We welcome out of state and country adoptions, and a home visit is required.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
