PLEASE BRING BAMA HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!
This is Bama. He was pulled from a TN shelter. He was surrendered to a shelter when his owners left for India and did not take him with them. A good neighbor took him in for a month hoping the owners would return and they did not, so she took him to the shelter. Bama was at the shelter for a few days and then they called us to step in and rescue him to find the best possible home. When we pick up Bama he was scared and a bit nippy, but as soon as we were in the car outside the shelter he was a different dog!!!!!!!!!!! He was so happy to be out of there you could see the smile on his face. He is good with other dogs and kids but don't know about cats. Bama's only draw back is he likes to jump and climb so if you leave a chair out from the kitchen table he will be in the middle of the table but other than that he is a wonderful dog looking for a great home.
He is UTD on shots, already neutered, and Heartworm negative!! He is just ready for a forever family.
If you think Bama would be a good fit for your home please fill out an online application. We will process it and be with you in a few days. Out of state adoptions are welcome.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

Not Good with Cats
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
