BIO (2/22/2019):  Need a little chocolate in your life?  Consider Oliver!  This is a quiet, laid back kind of guy, happy to curl up beside you for movie night.  Oliver is a gentle soul looking for a home where he feels secure.  He was a breeder dog but is now looking for someone to allow him to be a real pet.

Very shy at first, Oliver is learning to love, to play with toys and enjoy the good life!  He does well with other dachshunds but would also do well being the only pup in a homebody’s life.  He is a tiny boy, so easy to tuck under your arm and carry along.  Share your home with Oliver and enjoy a little chocolate!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
